We're excited to host this exciting symposium by LJMU's Research Institute for Literature and Cultural History.

The day will begin with lunch at 12pm followed by our first keynote at 1pm. Dr Peter D. O'Neill, author of The Black and Green Atlantic: Crosscurrents of the African and Irish Diasporas, will be talking about his current research, which examines Irish relations with Native Americans.

This will be followed by a series of 10 minute presentations by RILCH members on current research and writing. Our second keynote is Dr Lubaaba Al-Azami, author of Travellers in the Golden Realm: How Mughal India connected England to the World, who will be ending the afternoon's talks with the Black History Month lecture: Trade in Souls: Early Modern English Slave Trading from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean.

We will have drinks in the bar to conclude. The event will finish by 6pm.
