Studio 1 at the Bluecoat

A collective of three local arts organisations have teamed up together to host workshops and events from their multi-use studio within the heart of The Bluecoat.

The unique space, with handmade sprung dance floor, is available for other movement and wellness practitioners, movers, makers, dancers and dreamers to hire.

Over the last year, the space has been used for Choreography and devising, Tap dance rehearsals, Blue Room rehearsals, Movema dance courses, Singing For Wellbeing Group, Buffon Clowning Course, Jazz Singing Course, Yoga and Mindfulness workshops, Essential Somatics Training, Songwriting sessions and more.

Simone Tani: Founding member of Teatro Pomodoro

Simone is one of the team behind Liverpool’s amazing Teatro Pomodoro, an award-winning international theatre company comprising talented performers and creators from five diverse countries: Canada, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the UK. Established in Liverpool and brought together at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in Paris, the troupe specialises in crafting thought-provoking and playful theatrical experiences for audiences worldwide. Drawing from a rich mix of influences including clowning, bouffon, music, comedy, and dance, Teatro Pomodoro delivers electrifying performances. Our artists bring a wealth of experience garnered from stages across Europe, Asia, and North America, ensuring each production is a dynamic and unforgettable journey.”

Hannah Ballard: Founder and Artistic Director of Sole Rebel CIC

Sole Rebel is a Liverpool based dance and music company touring and delivering workshops in the North West and across the UK. Sole Rebel connects artists and communities through live dance and music experiences including tap performances, jazz tap jams, ceilidhs, family discos, children's immersive performances, discussions and workshops. They love all things dance but their main dance form is Jazz Tap. Sole Rebel are passionate about sharing their art form through participation and engagement by celebrating rhythm as a universal language that connects all of us. They deliver classes to all ages from 2 years+, from tap dance enthusiasts to professional dancers. You can catch them monthly at The Pen Factory on a Sunday evening where they run a free Jazz Tap Jam, bring your tap shoes and join in or you can sit back and enjoy the music and dancing.


Rachel Waite: Founder and Director of Holistic Harmonies CIC

Holistic Harmonies are a Community Interest Company based in Liverpool delivering a weekly singing for wellbeing group for everyone (at Studio1 at the Bluecoat), music and movement sessions, family social events, end of life music in palliative care settings and targeted projects linked to developing intergenerational practice within social care settings.

Their weekly Singing For Wellbeing Group runs on Wednesdays from 6.30pm - 8pm at Studio 1.
