The morning included the launch of Robert Sheppard's new book featuring his Lowry writing, while the afternoon comprised a visit to Hilbre Island in the Dee estuary, a place that the writer knew and incorporated in his writing into his Wirral topography. The event was supported by Liverpool John Moores University.
