Participants learned the screen printing process and produced a set of their own two colour prints. This one day workshop equipped them with the knowledge to be able to screen print from start to finish.
No prior experience was required, but this workshop is also good for screen printers that require a refresher!
Sat 20 Nov 2021: Introduction to Linocut
Participants developed their relief printing skills by learning how to produce mono and colour prints using vinyl.
They learned all about this versatile relief printing technique achieved by carving into a vinyl block which is then rolled with ink and printed. They printed a single black and white print and a two colour print all in one day.
This workshop was only available for people 18 and over.
Sat 4 Dec 2021: Screen Printing Cards for Christmas
Participants learned the screen printing process and made a set of Christmas cards to take away.
This workshop was a taster of some of the techniques involved in the screen printing process- and attendees left with a set of Christmas cards that they printed themselves to take away.

Sat 15 Jan 2022: Introduction to Etching
Attendees learned how to use the Bluecoat’s 100 year old intaglio press to produce etchings using both soft and hard grounds.
Etching is a printmaking technique that uses a chemical reaction to produce indents on a metal plate the indents hold ink that when put through a press with damp paper create a print.
This workshop was only available for people 18 and over.
