With local contributions, this interactive artwork echoed a traditional Mexican shrine: brightly coloured, celebrating life and death, and featuring seven steps representing the seven deadly sins. Calderon created masks and other objects for the altar with local communities, as well as baked-bread skulls. His residency culminated in a Halloween weekend of workshops and activities focusing on the altar.
