The Bluecoat commissioned the poet, broadcaster and long-time Lowry aficionado Ian McMillan, and musician Luke Carver Goss, to create a song 'tricycle' based on Lowry's life, writing and relationship to music, drinking and the sea. The work was performed by the artists, together with Liverpool choir Sense of Sound.
