The Firminist Issue no. 3

2012

The third issue of this occasional Lowry journal, published by the University of Bradford and the Bluecoat, was launched at the 2012 Lounge. It had a music theme and was dedicated to the life and work of British jazz musician Graham Collier (1937-2011) who composed several Lowry-related works. A meditation by Collier on Lowry is accompanied in the publication by texts from poet Ian McMillan, The Firminist editor Mark Goodall including his review of Canadian sound artist Locsil's 'Lowry soundtrack' City Hospital, Catherine Delesalle-Nancey on rhythm & blues in Lowry, a report by Annick Drösdal-Levillain on that year's Lowry conference at Cerisy, Normandy, and 'An Odd But Splendid Din', Lowry's Top Twenty selected by Bryan Biggs.
