The 2012 Lowry Lounge programme
2012
The third Lowry Lounge started with a walking tour of Liverpool and continued at the Bluecoat with a full afternoon of talks, performances, a film screening and publication launch. The programme brought together a rich combination of academic and creative responses to Lowry, looking at his Nordic connections, his influence on Situationism, the 'anti-novels' of Lowry devotee David Markson, and how montage in films like Vertov’s Man With A Movie Camera impacted on Lowry's writing technique. Two specially created audio visual performances introduced a greater artistic element into the programme, a feature that would continue in subsequent Lounges.
