Liverpool Arab Arts Festival grew from a collaboration between Bluecoat and Liverpool Yemeni Arabic Club in 1998, developing through an ‘Arab Weekender’ in 2000, and finally a partnership in 2002, when the first LAAF was launched at St George’s Hall. The organisation has its office at Bluecoat.

This photograph is of Moroccan Digital and Roots music band Momo, who performed late into the night in the Bluecoat garden for LAAF 2004. The garden has been used for music and other live events and festivals for many years.
