By the 1990s, Bluecoat was increasingly reflecting developments in international art, with a focus outside the traditional Western centres. This exhibition from Senegal was Bluecoat's contribution to 1995 UK-wide festival, Africa 95, and was curated by artist Fode Camara in collaboration with Jan Cools from de Warande, Turnhout in Belgium. It led to Bluecoat being invited to participate in the DAK'ART Biennale in Dakar in 1996.
