Bluecoat's historic wooden staircase
1980
This staircase in the North East wing is the oldest in the building, and retains its original oak timbers from the early 18th century. This photograph by Browns (of Sandown Lane, Wavertree) was probably taken in the 1950s.
The caption on the reverse reads: 'Bluecoat Chambers, Liverpool. Original main staircase, repaired after suffering considerable war damage. Now only used as an additional exit from the Concert Hall.'
