Bluecoat's Artistic Director Bryan Biggs is participating in this event at Arnolfini, Bristol that revisits the critically acclaimed 1992 project, Trophies of Empire, a collaboration between artist Keith Piper, Bluecoat, Arnolfini and Hull Time Based Arts, working with venues in the three port cities. Taking the 500th anniversary of Columbus' landing in the Americas as its starting point, the exhibition and performance series interrogated colonial legacies through 15 artists' commissions. These were documented, together with essays by, amongst others, Gilane Tawadros, in a Bluecoat publication, copies of which are still available from us, priced £5.
