A new book, edited by Theron Schmidt, tracing the development of live art in the UK has been published. AGENCY: A Partial History of Live Art includes an interview with Bluecoat's Artistic Director, Bryan Biggs, about some of the arts centre's work in this area of experimental and interdisciplinary art practice, which started at the venue with Yoko Ono's live event in 1967 and grew during the 1980s and 90s. The book is co-published by the Live Art Development Agency and Intellect: http://www.thisisliveart.co.uk/publishing/agency-a-partial-history-of-live-art
