Following the success of their festive collaboration, The Party Animals Knot Wrap, Blue Room and Lush have teamed up yet again to celebrate love in all its many forms and shapes with a new Knot Wrap design titled ‘Building Together’.
Knot Wraps are ornately decorated fabric that can be worn or used as a replacement for a carrier bag or disposable gift wrap.
The Building Together design stands as a testament to the power of collective creativity, where Blue Room artists embarked on a playful journey to craft a series of vibrant collages. Inspired by friendship, family and the joys of creation, this project brought together artists to weave a tapestry of shapes and colours.
Drawing inspiration from the work of Katie Schwab within her installation for 'Are you messin’?' held at Bluecoat in 2022, Blue Room artists embraced bold colours and whimsical shapes, turning their studio into a playground of imagination.
The Building Together Knot Wrap was created through a game of 'pass the paper' where each artist added their unique mark using print offcuts and scrap paper shapes. As the pieces exchanged hands, they evolved, taking on new forms with each contribution until twelve abstract collages emerged, each a testament to the collective effort and creativity of many hands.
Perfectly timed for inclusion in Lush's Valentine's Day collection, the Building Together collages spread the message that love comes in many shapes. Through this colourful design, Blue Room artists explore the multifaceted nature of love—the romantic, the familial, the platonic.
